Twitterrific is a macOS and iOS client for the social networking site Twitter created by The Iconfactory and was the first Twitter desktop client to come to macOS. It lets users view 'tweets' or micro-blog posts on the Twitter website in real time as well as publish their own. Twitterrific is closed source software. Awesome screenshot 1 2.
Features[edit]
The program's main window uses a translucentblack theme similar to certain palettes used in Aperture, iPhoto and other Apple Inc. software. Users may choose to view the full public timeline or just the friends feed. Users can also click on links to view the poster's profile or mark a tweet as a favorite.
- Twitterrific's appearance panel supports themes, lets you customize fonts & type sizes, and even lets you control how media appears in the timeline. ⁕ Read Anywhere Whether you use Twitterrific on your iPhone, iPad, or another Mac, the app automatically syncs your reading position for a seamless Twitter experience.
- Twitterrific 5 is available now in the App Store for a launch price of $2.99. Leave a comment Posted in: News, Reviews, Top stories Tagged: iPad, iPhone, reviews, the iconfactory, Twitter.
For Twitterrific 5, that person was David Lanham. We’d done Twitter clients before and honestly weren’t that enthused about doing another one. That was until we saw a complete and clickable prototype that David had created. That “wow!” moment you have when you launch and start to use Twitterrific 5 is something we experienced last February. Twitterrific also provides functionality to upload images and videos for posting on Twitter.[3]
History[edit]
As of version 2.1, Twitterrific supports Growl notifications, enhanced AppleScript capabilities and can be used with other sites or services that use the Twitter API.
Version 3 changed Twitterrific into advertising supported shareware; every hour an ad is refreshed to the top of the list. Users who buy the program receive no ads. Other changes in version 3 mostly added compatibility with Mac OS X 10.5 and incorporated newer Twitter features like direct messaging.
The iOS version of Twitterrific won the 2008 Apple Design Award for Best iPhone Social Networking Application.[4][5]
On April 1, 2010, The Iconfactory released Twitterrific for iPad (Version 1.0), ready for the iPad's US launch on April 3. On June 24, a version of Twitterrific was launched (version 3.0) that was universally compatible with the iPhone, iPod touch and the iPad.
On February 14, 2017, a Kickstarter project was launched by The Iconfactory to try and revive the Twitterrific for Mac application.[6][7]
On October 10, 2017, the Mac application received a 5.0 update and was added to the Mac App Store.[8]
Twitterrific 5 For Twitter 5 2 2020
On June 13 2019, the iOS version 6.0 was announced. It disregarded previous in-app-purchases. Users who had previously paid not to see ads were shown ads again.[9] Iconfactory regards Twitterific 6.0 as a new app but doesn't give their existing users the option of staying on twitterific 5.x.

Twitterrific 5.3.4
August 2018
Updated to comply with Twitter's new third party app developer restrictions
On August 16th, Twitter initiated their plan to shut down several services that Twitterrific and other third party clients have long depended on to provide features you've come to know and love. Twitter's rollout of this shutdown was done in stages so that the affected services would flicker 'on' and 'off' with increasingly long 'off' durations until finally remaining 'off' permanently. The final shutdown date has now arrived and as a result we have removed all of the features from Twitterrific that had become increasingly unreliable over the previous week.
Live streaming has been removed. Workaround: Twitterrific will now automatically refresh every few minutes while the app is open, or you can manually pull to refresh.
Direct message delivery will be delayed. Workaround: Wait longer, or use the official Twitter app and/or website.
We are sorry for this and wish we had better news. We will continue to work on the app for as long as we can and explore better workarounds where possible. Thank you for being a loyal Twitterrific customer over the years. We are forever grateful.
BUG FIXES
- The option to remove emoji from display names now also applies to muffled tweets
- Fixed an issue where muffle rules of the form '@username retweets' were incorrectly matching as if they were 'retweets @username' rules
